Needless to say if you're attempting to remain completely in the dark about this movie there may be several SPOILERS ahead. Of course everything at the time of this recording is completely unsubstantiated. So grab a scrap of paper and keep score, let's see which one of us had the most correct guesses!

1870 - Five years after the end of the Civil War and amidst a contentious period of reconstruction, dark things have been allowed to fester within the wounds of a healing nation.
On the national stage debates are raging regarding politics and industry. Grand accords are being forged that will shape the future of a country. But on the night of April 30th, within the local sphere of one Ohio city, a potentially greater series of events are transpiring.
A haunted, love sick recluse.
A woman seeking revenge.
A forbidden, dark power threatening all life around it.
As these elements are brought together over the course of one storm ridden evening, they very well could mean the collapse of mankind, or allow a momentary respite from the oblivion which awaits us all.
Join us now and listen to the very first TRIO SIMPATICO production, presenting this original short story by podcast co-host Joshua Scott Witsaman.
Produced and directed by David Tavolier.
Read by Joshua Witsaman and Jessica Burkhart.
Finishing off our month-long series of horror episodes we offer you this audio production of Unrequited Death: 1870
Happy Halloween!
Yes that's right! This week we're sitting down with world renowned* expert** of the occult, REGINALD STERLING and his vigilant assistant DENNIS!
Sure, Reginald Sterling might not be an A-list celebrity, heck he might not even be a C-List E-List celebrity, but we're a relatively new podcast and have to take whatever celebrities we can get! If you're not familiar with Mr. Sterling and Dennis then you are about to delve deep into a hidden world which surrounds and penetrates our own reality. Reginald Sterling is an investigator of the paranormal, cryptozoologist, monster hunter, and all around defender against the myriad of dark menaces which stalk humanity!
Which is great, since that fits in perfectly with our month long horror theme! So as we count down to Halloween tune into TRIO SIMPATICO and get some advice about how you can defend yourself against the lurking things that yearn for human blood!
Crack open a good book and get transported to a new and exciting world where you can forget about reality for awhile!
Crack open a horror book and face your own deep terror of the unknown along with an unsettling understanding that the universe as a whole regards you as insignificant!
If that sounds like just the pick-me-up you're looking for then join your co-hosts DAVID TAVOLIER and JOSHUA WITSAMAN for a brief and incomplete discussion of horror literature where they'll discuss some of their favorite works!
Joining us this episode and explaining what scares them the most is returning guest CARL RANDLES and Stephen King aficionado DANIELLE BARTLETT!
So stop peering into the void of madness presented on the page and take a time out from scaring yourself silly to listen to this week's TRIO SIMPATICO!
Night approaches and a shadowed moon rises. You find yourself walking, alone, as daylight slips away. Soon every gust of wind and each crunching leaf develops a sinister tone, but there's something more. The dawning fear within in you has been born from something more than simply the encroaching dusk.
And suddenly you understand, hearing it all around you. The lurking fear explodes into full blown horror when you realize what it is . . . .
TRIO SIMPATICO!
Enough dramatics! We're back! And this week Dave and Josh are kicking off our series of horror themed episodes with a discussion of Horror Movies! We're talking about what we like about them, why we watch them, what makes a good horror movie, and which horror franchise monsters would win in a horror battle royale!
At some point along the way Josh is lost to the inky void of darkness and never heard from again but thankfully JASON LEMMON picks up the slack! But Jason isn't our only guest! Also joining the discussion this week are JOSH TUMPAK, RYAN RIMMELE, and returning guest DAVID WESTER!
So scramble under your bed, curl up into the fetal position, and listen to this week's TRIO SIMPATICO! And hope THEY don't find you!
Spread out your character sheets!
Warm up those dice!
Roll for initiative!
And ready your lightsabers!
This week we're talking about the STAR WARS RPG!
David and Joshua didn't record a full episode this week because they were too busy playing tabletop RPGs! In particular they were partaking in their monthly session of the Star Wars D20 Roleplaying Game (Revised Core Rulebook)! So instead of disappointing the "fans" Josh and Dave decided to set up the recording equipment and talk about the game with their fellow players.
For this bonus episode TRIO SIMPATICO will be transformed into QUINTET SIMPATICO when we discuss the SWRPG with Brian Ashton, David Langstaff, and Dan Hensley. This lovable band of misfits will share snippets of their epic Star Wars RPG adventures over the past 3 years, discuss their characters, and talk about the mechanics of the game; what works, and what doesn't.
So pull up a chair and assign all your skill points to listen for this week's TRIO SIMPATICO!

Just when things couldn’t get any worse they stumble upon DAN KEARSEY, and he’s hungry to talk about the new Netflix series STRANGER THINGS!
Wait! That actually sounds like a pretty good time! So Josh and Dave sit down to discuss childhood, the 80’s, and imponderable horror!
But have no fear if you haven’t had a chance yet to watch STRANGER THINGS! During the first half of the show we have a spoiler free general discussion of the show informing you about its premise, some of its influences, and why you should watch it immediately!
BUT
watch out after the break because we jump out at you with a spoiler heavy second half that really gets into the nitty and the gritty of this nostalgic, suspense-filled Netflix romp!
TRIO SIMPATICO is out there!
A lot of people have claimed that this podcast is a witless discussion of pop culture and entertainment, and this week they're right. This week is totally WITless because it's missing co-host Joshua WITsaman! (See what I did there?)
On this week's TRIO SIMPATICO David Tavolier is flying solo, LIVE from Baltimore Comic Con in Baltimore Maryland! Filling the other two seats of our trio are NICK ABOOD (making an unprecedented, recording setting THIRD appearance on the show!) along with Nick's progenitor JEFFREY ABOOD.
The TRIO discuss their first couple of days at Baltimore Comic Con, what makes BCC different from other cons, what they've seen so far, and what collectibles they're coming away with. If you've listened to the episodes from the past two weeks you'll notice a comic book heavy trend in topics and this week is the BONUS EPISODE tying it all together! So take a listen and enjoy!
What is a comic book convention? What draws so many to participate in these affairs? And what do these participants enjoy about such events?
This week on TRIO SIMPATICO Joshua and David delve deep into these questions while sharing some of their personal best and worst con experiences. Of course as one might expect comic books are involved. Costumes and cosplayers abound. Varieties of panels which are presented by fans as well as creators and celebrities within pop culture. Meet and greets. Book signings. Collectibles. Fans. Camaraderie.
All of these are elements of a convention.
Joining us again this week is NICK ABOOD a comic book reader who cut his fandom teeth at San Diego Comic Con, the big one! Nick and Dave reminisce about their halcyon days at San Diego and some of their more recent convention pursuits as well.
